has anyone ever experienced this?
my nails have been separating from the nail bed for 3months now. it's not painful though. but it's scary 'coz half of the nail is already detached. although the nail plate itself does not break or crackNail plate separates from nail bed?
A fungus is a possibility but generally the nails will be thickened, irregular and deformed. Another thought is protein malnutrition. Supplement your diet with multivits and protein rich foods--gelatin, legumes or high protein shakes and supplements.Nail plate separates from nail bed?
If this is happening on your toes, it could be that your shoes don't fit right or you are exercising and you need bigger shoes.
Other possibilities? Injury. A new nail will grow underneith.
One other possibility, you have a nail fungus and you need to see a doctor, they have to give you prescription meds that get rid of the fungus, otherwise it will spread to your other toes or fingers.
Yep, happened to me. I was loading bricks and one fell on my finger. The finger swelled up, I had bruise under the nail and then nail detached a day or two later.
Losing the nail didn't hurt much and it grew back in about six weeks.
My nail has just seperated after it was hit then after some days a light tension by me.I noticed another new is growing.
