Top quality acrylic nail products do not damage your nails. A bad tech is what ruins your nails, not the acrylic. If you are going to a discount salon (paying $25 or less for a full set) what would one expect anyway? Great nails for that cheap? It doesn't happen. For the person that said the nails created ridges in their nails: No, it was not the acrylic. It was an unskilled tech who overfiled the nail plate using a Dremel tool. These ridges are called 'rings of fire.' They almost always happen when people go to the discount salons and pay dirt cheap prices for their nails. You get what you pay for. If you pay for cheap nails, you will get cheap nails. Simple as that. i know i had it done, its horrible
they are lovly when they are on but then you have to pay money every month to get them filled and once you are bored or cant afford it you have to take them off and see your weak nasty nails underneath

If you wear acrylic nails every day, the will damage your nail bed. If you only get acrylic nails for special occasions its not that bad.
real nails become brittle and crack and break easy until all the damage from t he fake nails grow out
i also got ridges in my real nails from getting fill ins all the time
